ONTARIO, CA, UNITED STATES, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Ontario Tower Buzzers, the Single-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will partner with Friends of Big Bear Valley for “Fly High, Jackie Night” on Sunday, Aug. 23, at ONT Field. The evening will honor the life and legacy of Jackie, the beloved Big Bear bald eagle whose story captivated viewers around the world.

The Tower Buzzers will host the Inland Empire 66ers at 5:05 p.m. as part of the special evening. Fifty percent of proceeds from tickets purchased through the dedicated Friends of Big Bear Valley ticket offer will be donated to the nonprofit organization in Jackie’s memory.

Jackie, who was believed to have hatched in Big Bear Valley in 2012, became known around the world through Friends of Big Bear Valley’s live nest cameras, which gave viewers an intimate look at her life in the San Bernardino Mountains alongside her longtime mate, Shadow. The nonprofit has operated its bald eagle nest livestream as a free public resource, helping educate viewers about bald eagles, the region’s wildlife, and the importance of protecting Southern California’s natural habitats.

Jackie died earlier this month following several weeks of intensive care after she was found grounded near Big Bear Lake. Her passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from the worldwide community that had followed Jackie, Shadow, and their eaglets through the Friends of Big Bear Valley livestream.

“Jackie’s story reached far beyond Big Bear Valley and created a connection between people and wildlife that was truly extraordinary,” said Allan Benevides, General Manager of the Ontario Tower Buzzers. “As a team that represents the Inland Empire, we want to provide our fans and community with an opportunity to come together to celebrate Jackie’s life and support the organization that has helped share her story with the world.”

Friends of Big Bear Valley is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and advocacy and the protection of wildlife, habitats, and biodiversity throughout Big Bear Valley. Since installing its first bald eagle nest camera in 2015, the organization has provided a 24-hour livestream that has introduced audiences around the world to the lives of Jackie, Shadow, and their offspring, while building greater awareness of bald eagle conservation.
The organization also provides educational resources for classrooms, advocates for the protection of environmentally sensitive areas, and works to preserve the natural habitats that support bald eagles and other wildlife in Big Bear Valley.

Fans wishing to participate in “Fly High, Jackie Night” and support Friends of Big Bear Valley can purchase tickets at https://www.gofevo.com/event/Friendsbig2. Fifty percent of proceeds from tickets purchased through the link will be donated to Friends of Big Bear Valley.

The Aug. 23 game begins at 5:05 p.m. at ONT Field, 9375 E. Riverside Drive in Ontario.
